Getting ready for the New Year

Here it is -- my last weekly cartoon of 2018. Yes, I did it! I posted something every Sunday for the past 52 weeks. Actually, even longer than that, but my challenge to myself was to maintain the weekly pace I started in late 2017 through the entire year.

Most of this year's cartoons were scans directly from my sketchbook, but it still feels good to have accomplished this goal.

Next up: more cartoons in 2019! I don't know if I'll maintain the weekly pace (although I do already have the next several queued up), but I do plan on slowing down enough to at least do more of these as finished drawings rather than quick sketches. I also hope to get into some multi-panel storytelling, maybe collaborate with some other artists, and in general just keep having fun with my cartooning. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, thanks for following along on this year-long journey. I look forward to what comes next!

'Tis the season

(The colored pencils on this one didn't scan too well, but just imagine that they look awesome.)

What Steinbeck forgot

This week's quick-sketch (and poorly scanned) cartoon. Only a few more to go to meet my goal of publishing one a week for the entire year!

Hot Air

(A quick, five-minute sketch, which will haunt me for years to come.)
